Wedding: Our Look
I didn’t start looking for my wedding dress immediately, but I knew I wanted a dress that reflected my low-key personality and style. My short list was simple: I wanted it to be comfortable so I didn’t have to suck in all day and I wanted to feel pretty. I tried on a few options at different stores but ultimately settled on a simple and elegant J.crew dress.
To help narrow down my beauty look, I spent a significant amount of time on Pinterest where I could search for specific inspirational items. I wanted a dark smoky eye and neutral lips paired with a soft low bun. Summer, the make-up artist at Bombshell executed the look perfectly. And Caitlin, a hair stylist at Bombshell gave me the simple and effortless updo that I had hoped for, with a little bit of volume on top and a soft unstructured bun at the nape of my neck.
On the day of the wedding I was surprisingly calm. Aaron and I went for a short run to ease any potential nerves. I got ready at our apartment (we chose not to have anyone else there). I had already seen Aaron’s entire look—a slim tailored black suit that fit him perfectly.
