Workout Wear that is cute enough to boost your motivation
I assume I’m not alone in admitting that finding the motivation to start exercising is sometimes the most difficult step. Most days I play the new mom card, but I’d be kidding myself if that was my only excuse. Aside from chasing after a very active toddler, I definitely find myself wanting to be back in shape. And I might even go so far as to say I miss running. In the meantime, here’s a list of exercise gear that’s cute enough to serve as motivation!
ONE. Striped Spandex Top - J. Crew recently launched their activewear line and it’s fantastic. But did you know you can find similar items from their new line at J.Crew Factory for half the price. That means you can stock up guilt free!
TWO. Fleece Hoodie - I love this relaxed funnel neck fleece hoodie by Nike. It’s oversized neck is comfy and warm for those cold morning runs.
THREE. Chic Sports Bra - Whether it has a fun pattern or unique strap configuration, a chic sports bra always makes workout wear a little more fun. I love this one for its delicately crisscrossed straps, which allows more movement, and its corset-inspired cropped design. It offers plenty of support, but also includes removable cups for extra support and coverage.
FOUR. Vibrant leggings - A good pair of leggings are a staple in any workout wear capsule. The spandex of this pair keeps your legs looking tight while not being too restrictive around the waist. I love the color of these!
FIVE. Neon Pop Running Shorts - I love the added attention to detail that Brooks incorporates into their running gear. These shorts not only offer comfort and quality but they have two hidden pockets in the waistband to store your phone and key/cards. The pocket designed for your phone fits an iPhone 6 and is sweat-resistant.
SIX. Thorlos Running Socks - When it comes to socks and running, I used to wear whatever pair of low cut white socks I had in my drawer. Then when I started getting serious blisters on my feet, a friend recommended (thanks Sarah!) switching to these. They are incredibly cushiony, yet absorb sweat efficiently so your feet don’t blister when you run. I highly recommend these if you don’t already use them.
SEVEN. Fitbit - I have been a long time fan of Fitbit. I started with the Fitbit One and now wear a Fitbit Charge wristband. As much as cute workout wear can serve as motivation, nothing is quite as rewarding as tracking your fitness progress. I used my fitbit to track my activity over my pregnancy and to track my sleep as a new mom.
EIGHT. Boho Headband - I’ve tried a number of headbands and have always had a hard time finding one that didn’t slip down during a workout. This one is phenomenal and I could not praise it more. The elastic is tight enough that it stays put even after multiple uses and it keeps sweat from dripping into my eyes even on extremely hot days.
