Rockets of Awesome: The Coolest Kids Clothes - Handpicked and Delivered
I love shopping for Max’s clothes, but at the rate he is growing I feel like I’m constantly trying to keep up with the seasons. That’s why Rockets of Awesome is a subscription service for kids clothing that every parent should know about. Before you stop reading because you think you have too many subscription services, this one is totally free to try–there are no membership, shipping or styling fees. Only pay for what you keep and only keep what you love. The company has a simple mission: “We believe in simplifying the lives of parents and celebrating real life with kids. [Meltdowns included.]” The company has designers that create on-trend high-quality pieces for kids (sizes 2-14) that can be worn everyday.
How it works
Sign up for a Rockets of Awesome account. Fill out the style profile–this is the place to note your child’s size and specify any color preferences your child has. Since Max is only 2, I took the liberty of making these choices for him. The profile also gives you a few different looks and lets you select which one best suits your child. All together this only takes a minute to fill out. Then fill out your shipping and payment information. There is no styling fee and you only pay for what you want to keep. Wait for your Rockets of Awesome Box to arrive. Each Rocket of Awesome box contains 8-12 items that are seasonally appropriate. Try them on, keep what you like and use the prepaid envelop to return the rest. If you liked an item but need it in a different size or color the company is happy to accomodate your request.

Max is a pretty skinny kid, so he still fits in a lot of his summer clothes from last year. We only ended up keeping 2 shirts. He is still wearing a lot of his 12-18 months shorts, so all of the pants were too big around the waist. The price point of the box is a little higher than I like to spend but all the items are well made and high-quality. It might make sense for slightly older kids who aren’t out growing their clothes as quickly. I was also a little disappointed that they didn’t include any swim suits in the box.
The company gives you the option to provide feedback on each item in your box, which helps them to better tailor your next shipment. The company also gives you access to their shop, so that if you really like an item and want to buy a few extras you can easily do so anytime you want.
Overall, I was really happy with Max’s first box and I’m looking forward to what they send in the Fall. In addition, it was a huge bonus that Max loved the actual box that the shipment came in. He spent an hour sitting inside it and coloring it!
